When it comes to cruising especially if you are gay, there is a debate raging about whether to cruise or not to cruise. For the uninitiated cruising is simply going after someone for sex. There are plenty of places that this happens every single day. However not all gay men or gay women practice this practice. The problem comes in when those that are not of the gay culture decide that what the gay man woman is doing and is wrong. This is where the argument comes in the cruising is wrong.
When it comes to man on man sex or women on woman sex for some people cruising is right. They have rights just like everyone else to enjoy the pleasures of their bed. However cruising for just purely sexual reasons is not always right. There's plenty of disease is rampant in the gay community and not everyone that cruises is on the up and up. It basically comes down to what's right for the individual. Cruising can lead to a lot of things such as vice. The question still remains is cruising right or wrong?
So how do you decide if cruising is wrong or right for you? That will simply depend on your own ideas of morality and where you're going to get out of the cruising. The debate still rages on both sides, as far as the right or wrong of cruising is concerned. Each individual person will have to make that decision for them. Cruising can be a sensitive issue. So can you actually tell what is the right way and a wrong way to cruise? Again that judgment will have to lie with the individual. The writer doesn't presume to judge.
When it comes to the gay community at large, cruising is part of a bigger issue. This concerns the areas of crime and what is considered to be part of the gay culture. Public cruising is neither encouraged nor discouraged publicly. Gay groups don't take a public stand on this issue. It is up to the man or woman to decide for them what is right and what is wrong about the situation. One of the things to think about would be that if homosexuality was not so stigmatized that would be a non issue. Think about that for a while.
In certain parts of the gay community, this behavior is abhorred. Not everyone subscribes to the idea of cruising. For some people it is just simply bad news all the way around. This behavior could be seen as immoral by some in the gay community. So to cruise or not to cruise that is the question. As stated before, this is up to each individual to decide for himself or herself. No one else but the gay community can make the decision of what is right for them. Outsiders will always say cruising is immoral. But they are not the ones that have to make the choice for themselves. Only those that do this do.
