African Safaris have always intrigued people who keep an adventurous bent of mind. The cravings of the jungle are so prominent, in the keen safari buffs, that they just cannot let go any opportunity of doing a Safari. Safari in an African country can fit in perfectly with people who are intending to set the jungle tracks on fire this year, and are desperately waiting for the moment when their eyes will spot the tiger pug-marks.
Summer is the best time to go on a Safari Outing!
An African Safari is indeed an exhilarating experience altogether but the thing to look for should be the time when it is done. It is actually too hard to say which time will be best for going on a safari because the weather in most of the African countries like Namibia, South Africa etc. is excellent all the year around. But, if the views of the professional guides are taken in to consideration then the time when the animals can be spotted at will is when the season is dry.
Animals get perturbed when the temperature starts to climb!
This is the time when animals make a beeline for the water holes. Animals get immense solace by splashing around in the water. That is why in the dry season water holes are flooded with herds of animals; and if you are close by you get a chance to have a peep at your favorite animal. In the dry season the dense under-bush thins out so it makes the job of spotting animals all the more easy.
Another question worth pondering over is "What should be the right time of the day to go on a Safari"?The guides say that either it should be early morning or at dusk. In the hotter months early morning is the time when animal movements are at their peak. Midday is not the best time to go for animal watching. Sun is furious during midday so most of the animals are dozing under the shade of trees. The chances of spotting animals is very thin at midday because the animals are miles away from the safari tracks on which you are driving. They are probably hiding in some secluded place; they might be concealed under a dark under-bush.
So, before embarking on an African Safari see to it that you pick out the right time.
