One vacation that is just about unbeatable in the good ole US of A is Alaska. Few people realize that Alaska is larger than Texas, California, and Montana put together. It has a longer coastline than all other states combined. And it is the least populated state. Plenty of room to roam.
The terrain is quite varied, including active volcanoes, lush valleys, three million lakes, and over 16,000 square miles of glacier. Some of the larger wildlife includes black bears, grizzlies, Polar bears and Kodiaks on Kodiak Island. There are also caribou, moose, Dall sheep, bison, and mountain goats.

Cruising To Alaska For Seniors

A luxury Alaska cruise to the Great State of Alaska is the perfect destination for seniors who want an exciting vacation without too much walking or stress. By taking an Alaskan cruise, guests only have to unpack once at the start of the cruise and once at the end of the cruise. They can sleep soundly in the same bed for the duration of the cruise and dine on gourmet cuisine served by the same waiters in familiar surroundings. Of course, excellent food and pampering service are a given on a cruise.
Once onboard after a relatively short flight or drive from one's home city, guests can sit back and relax for the next seven days (or more!) while the wondrous and majestic scenery unfolds in front of their very eyes. The cruise ship will sail past snow capped mountains, rocky islands and serene coves. Perhaps one will see a pod of killer whales or dolphins. During the summer months, huge humpback whales are regularly sighted as are sea lions with their calves. Bald eagles can always be seen soaring above in the blue skies with snow capped mountains as their backdrop.
The Dancing Queen

Whoever said wheelchair users can’t dance has not met Juliette Rizzo; a woman who proves every day that disabled does not mean unable!
I had the pleasure of watching Juliette dance the TANGO from her power wheelchair. Her partner – an able bodied professional dancer on board the Celebrity Mercury Cruise ship. And let me tell you, it was amazing. The competition was tough – one wheelchair dancer against four able-bodied dancer couples.
Four able-bodied couples had a week and a half to rehearse to assure their dance would win the competition. Each couple was assigned a specific dance and a professional dancer from the on board staff. But not Juliette; her partner arrived the day before the competition which allowed only three hours to select the music, the wardrobe and the choreography. Add to this maze of to-do’s, Gabriel had NEVER danced with a wheelchair person before. Once he revealed his secret, “I always WIN!” Juliette was confident they would WIN. Gabriel saw a challenge and accepted it. The wheelchair did not scare him away, it challenged him to choreograph the dance around it.
